The Oracle Bird is a sculpture of beeswax, vintage lace, and brass — spiral feet, a golden head, a rose quartz heart. At its base, a QR code. Scan it, and the bird writes you something no one else will ever read — a short poem, drawn fresh, shaped by instructions about light, balance, and the kind of wisdom that lives in handmade things. Old craft meeting new tools, right where that mix feels most at home.
It was C.D. Good's first coding project, built through conversation with an AI team — screenshot by screenshot, sometimes. Shown in January 2025 at the Animalia: Return of the Wild show at Cowichan Valley Arts Council Gallery in Duncan, B.C.
